Another plant I grow is the Alstroemeria as I find they are a great companion plant grown along side the cannas, they are also long-time bloomers in the garden or potted and are perfect as a cut flowers.
I have listed Alstroemerias found throughout Australia, they are currently being listed below with their names that were supplied at time of purchase, some have had their identities corrected whilst a few I know were labelled wrong, however as these plants are circulating in Australia, I will keep them as purchased until their correct identity is confirmed.
Like cannas some Alstroemeria varieties also show different color changes throughout the season, which can make it difficult to correctly identify who the particular cultivar actually is; therefore, I have added additional pictures of certain varieties that show some of these traits.
Where applicable the first picture will be of its true form and additional pictures of its colour fluctuations for reference.
Where possible I also try to show the reverse of the flower as this can be critical in identifying some varieties that appear similar along with different traits of flecks on blooms.
Heights listed are those that were stated on named pot plant tags. In some descriptions a second height is listed as what that Alstroemeria variety has reached in my garden. Height is measured from top of mulch or soil to top of flowers.
All Alstroemeria images are taken by me and show copyright name so others don't use them to sell wrongly named plants to unknowing buyers.
If your passing through my town of Terang, Victoria, Australia, I also often have some Alstroemeria varieties for sale as potted plants.
I hope you enjoy my pictures of these beautiful Alstroemeria flowers and may you find some information to take away with you on your gardening journey.

Alstroemeria Claressa, Princess Lilies, white, 25-35cm height, variegated leaves. This picture of Claressa was take end of December 2023, approximately 6-7 weeks into the start of the flowering season for Alstroemerias that were hit by winter frosts.
This picture was taken in cooler weather at the end of May 2024 with Claressa showing cream colorings on upper inner tepals.
Alstroemeria Cloudburst was obtained under this name. Easily grows to 1.1 meters tall in my garden. This picture was taken mid November 2023.
Cloudburst has three quite distinct features, the first and second involve the upper inner tepals being that they are consistently displayed very upright and closely centered together, second is the pale fluctuations of yellow on them and the third is the horizontal flecks on the outer two horizontal tepals. All these three traits fluctuate throughout the flowering seasons. This picture of Cloudburst taken early Oct 2024.
It is very difficult to find further information on this one named Cloudburst however could it be a seedling or possibly be the cultivar Casablanca which it closely resembles on a few older information sites. If anyone has any old gardening catalogues as references on this one I'd love to hear from you. This picture was taken 20th November 2024.

Alstroemeria Gentiana Pink. I purchased this plant under this name from a past Alstroemeria collection in Victoria Australia. This picture was taken mid November 2022.
Gentiana Pink is very familiar to the cultivar Mona Lisa, however Gentiana Pink is shorter in height, has a much smaller sized bloom and is not as robust as Mona Lisa. These results were from potted stock. This picture was taken mid February 2023.
The only history I know of the name attached to this cultivar is that it was purchased with this name from a nursery east of Melbourne Victoria. Is it a seedling from Mona Lisa? could possibly be as its traits are fairly familiar. This picture of Gentiana Pink is showing increased flecking on outer tepals, picture was taken in October 2023.
This picture of Gentiana Pink is pale and washed out showing minimal pink shadings on outer tepals, picture was taken in mid October 2024.

This picture taken today 6th November 2024 of the very free blooming Ice and its showing rich peach and pink on its flowers. Alstroemeria Ice reaches just on 65cm tall in my garden.
Alstroemeria Indian Summer, Summer Series, orange, 50-60cm height, bronze coloured foliage. In my garden Indian Summer reaches just over 85cm tall, height is measured from top of mulch to top of flowers.
Alstroemeria Ivana, Princess Lilies, magenta, 30-40cm height. This picture taken mid October 2023 showing how Ivana looks most of the time.
Here is a picture of Ivana from winter mid February 2023 showing a bit more yellow flushing's.
Here are two pictures taken today the 12 November 2024 (late Spring in Australia), and Ivana is looking a lot like the variety Paola to me with its outer tepals showing lots of cream, you can see a almost normal magenta flower at the top of the above picture.
Why is Ivana looking like this? most likely its the weather 2-3 warm days than a few cold days with rain here and there. Ivana has been planted on the corner of a garden bed since roughly March 2023, it pretty much constantly in flower as it gets some protection from the cannas and doesn't get hit by frosts.
Is the plant dry and stressed? could be however the cannas besides and behind it are growing quite well just on natural rainfall alone. I've never seen Ivana look like this before and find it interesting to see these colour changes. If I was asked to identify this plant my first thought would not be Ivana.
Alstroemeria Juliet, Princess Lilies, white, 30-40cm height.
Juliet a perfect alstroemeria variety for pots and garden borders.
Alstroemeria Julietta, Princess Lilies, purple and white, 30-40cm height.
The plant label name tag of the purple and white alstroemeria Julietta described as perfect for pots and borders.
Alstroemeria Kate, Princess Lilies, red, 25-35cm height.
Alstroemeria Katiana, Princess Lilies, red, 25-35cm height. With variegated leaves Katiana is also the sister plant to Kate.
Variegated leaves of Katiana showing irregular trimmings of white.
Here Katiana produced an all white shoot coming up from under normal variegated growth, when I see all white growth I pull those shoots out as it well known that variegated plants require a good mix of green growth containing chlorophyll to enable it to photosynthesis correctly and to produce adequate good growth.
Alstroemeria Lauren, Princess Lilies, white, 20-30cm height.
Alstroemeria Lilian, Princess Lilies, lilac, 25-35cm height.
Alstroemeria Lisa, Princess Lilies, yellow, 25-35cm height. Lisa would be the most distinct and easiest to identify of the yellow alstroemeria varieties with a few small flecks toward the center of the three inner tepals, her yellow color can show a very slight fluctuation throughout the seasons, overall she is a very sharp and clean alstroemeria.
Alstroemeria Little Eleanor, raised by Frank Goemans, yellow, 40cm height. This picture taken mid October 2023.
This picture of Little Eleanor was taken mid October 2022.
